Eclectic/Integrative Therapy

Eclectic and Integrative therapy is an open form of psychotherapy that adapts to the unique needs of each specific client, depending on the problem, the treatment goals, and the person’s expectations and motivation. An eclectic therapist draws from a variety of disciplines and may use a range of proven methods to determine the best combination of therapeutic tools to help the client. It seeks to directly meet the client and their needs by drawing from multiple therapy approaches in order to select the best treatment for each individual client. It can be viewed as a combination of different therapy approaches that is tailored to each client depending on their problems, goals, and expectations. As your psychotherapist, I customize the therapeutic process by using whatever form of treatment, or combination of treatments, has been shown to be most effective for treating the particular problem.

Eclectic therapy has been shown to be helpful for people with the following mental health concerns:

  • Major depression
  • Postpartum depression
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Eating disorders

  • Marriage, family, or other relationship struggles
  • Developmental challenges and issues related to specific stages of life
